What is a Network Technician?

A Network Technician is a vital part of any organization that relies on computer networks. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Installation and Configuration:

Setting up network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls  
Installing and configuring network software and applications  
Running cables and ensuring proper physical connections  
Maintenance and Monitoring:

Regularly checking network performance and identifying potential issues  
Performing routine maintenance tasks like software updates and backups  
Using network monitoring tools to detect and resolve problems proactively  
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

Diagnosing and resolving network connectivity problems  
Identifying and fixing hardware and software malfunctions  
Responding to user requests for technical assistance  
Security:

Implementing and maintaining network security measures  
Monitoring for security threats and taking appropriate action  
Ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures
Documentation:

Keeping detailed records of network configurations and changes  
Documenting troubleshooting steps and solutions  
Creating user guides and training materials  
Collaboration and Communication:

Working with other IT professionals to design and implement network solutions  
Communicating technical information clearly to non-technical users  
Providing support and training to end-users  
Additional Responsibilities (May Vary)

Inventory Management: Keeping track of network hardware and software assets
Vendor Management: Working with vendors to procure and maintain network equipment
Project Management: Participating in network upgrade or expansion projects

Essential Skills

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching)   

    • Knowledge of network devices and protocols   

    • Proficiency in network operating systems and software

    • Familiarity with network security tools and best practices

  • Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues quickly and effectively   

    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Education and Training

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree: In computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Job Type: Full-Time Part-Time Contractor

Pay: Commission Base (Varies on experience education/certifications

Benefits: You are responsible on getting your own benefits

Schedule: Sunday to Saturday from 08:00 am to 10:00 pm. Off Federal Holidays

Ability to Commute/Relocate: Customers/Clients Location when needed

Work Location: Northern Utah

You will interact with customer's, suggest solutions for their needs, install invisible shield on customer devices, repair broken phones, and keep the kiosk clean and organized. We are seeking a team member that can work 30-40 hours per week (over 4-5 shifts), we have great flexibility for school, or other commitments. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS. We are looking to fill this position immediately. Opportunity for advancement, responsibility, and more hours, are plentiful.
